Elo was one of the leading pioneers of touchscreen technology. The company which was founded in 1971 was then called Elographics and its founder Sam Hurst worked on the touch screen sensor when was a professor at the university of Kentucky. In 1977 Elo developed 5 wire resistive touchscreen technology, the system that is still the most popular of those used today.
The company changed its name to Elo Touch Systems in 1994. It is headquartered in Milpitas, California and has manufacturing facilities and regional offices worldwide. The company is now owned by Gores Group which acquired it in 2012.

ELO tablets provide POS and POI (point of information) platforms that incorporate barcode and magnetic stripe readers, wireless networking and printing, and a ruggedised design that makes them resistant to being dropped. All popular POS environments are supported.

Elo 1515L Multifunction 15-inch Desktop Touchmonitor
The Elo 1515L touch monitor is a cost effective solution with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The touch screen is sealed with side controls. . It can be supplied with AccuTouch Five-Wire Resistive Technology or projected capacitive (PCAP) Technology. Options include USB with keyboard emulation or human interface device (HID) specification.
